Movie Memorabilia: A Lorenz Bolz Zirndorf Humming Spinning top, used to create the sound effects for Rick Deckard and Gaff's spinner, in the 1982 production of Blade Runner - directed by Ridley Scott, 24cm diameter (no longer hums)
Consigned by the assistant sound editor on the production, 'The spinning top mechanism allowed us to generate an oscillating metal sound which when looped treated, mixed with other sound effect components created the finished sound for the 'spinner' crafts
