A signed handwritten letter from Robert Donat to Miss Bessie Luce in Liverpool, dated 29 July 1929 from Dingley, Alderley Edge, Manchester, referencing producing Redwood Anderson's 'Babel' at Cambridge and future readings.
*Robert Donat was born near Manchester in 1905, and made his first stage appearance in 1921. In 1928 he performed for a year at the Liverpool Playhouse and then went to the Festival Theatre in Cambridge the following year, the date of this letter. Donat was not to make his first film appearance until 1932.
